Die Breaks? Dimes - Coin Community Forum

Are these die breaks? or something else. 1996 - from the bottom of the torch through the D to the rim 2015 - at the bottom of the torch going right, very small (sorry best pictureI could get of it) 2016 - at bottom of torch going right, also seems to be one on the hub at the bottom of the torch and another 2016 - again going to the right near the bottom of the torch Thanks for looking and any information you can provide. A Die BREAK is when a piece of the die has literally broken off and fallen away. If the die break involves the edge of the coin it is called a " Cud", if it is very small it is called a die chip. Exactly when a "chip" becomes a "break" I con't say but all chips are breaks, but not all breaks are chips. Report this Post to the Staff
