1960-P Jefferson. What Would This Be Called?

Wildhare Valued Member United States 219 Posts	Posted 02/27/2017 5:19 pm I purchased a roll of Uncirculated 1960-P Jefferson nickels, and 10 of them have this exact same error. Can you all chime in on what you think it is and is it unusual? Sorry about the one fuzzy photo. The same exact series of lines appears on all the coins between the "M" and "O" in Monticello. * Moved by Staff to a more appropriate forum. * Report this Post to the Staff

Thulium Valued Member United States 295 Posts	Posted 02/27/2017 5:59 pm Interesting...I suspect it's not PMD--it's in a protected area. Are the marks raised or cut into the coin? Wildhare Valued Member United States 219 Posts	Posted 02/27/2017 6:24 pm Buddy....in reference to the Monticello building, I have found that all of these coins are not well struck. Some of them look like they were struck through oatmeal. Kind of like some of the 2000 Jeffersons. These particular ones are out of a OBW roll, and most of them have no steps....nothing close to full steps on any. Report this Post to the Staff
