Some people say the 3-cent silver trime is ugly, but I find it fascinating and wonderful. People called them fish scales in the day, but I would prefer to call them fairy mites, like widow mites, but just kind of fantasy-like, because it's just a star, and what looks like a crescent moon on the reverse. I think I got a good price, but I don't know, $550. There were quite a few he didn't have such as the Type 2 1913s and the 1914D. But he had some pretty nice pieces in there, and if I bought them individually, I'm sure I'd have paid plenty!
