SoundBeing Valued Member Germany 116 Posts	Posted 01/22/2022 10:26 am This coin has all the shapings of "1898-P VAM-2B Closed 9" only without the " Retained Cud NITED". dave700x Rest in Peace United States 10625 Posts	Posted 01/22/2022 10:51 am Without the IT die chip it is considered VAM-2 and according to the listing commands less premium than the VAM-2B. There is one example that looks like the same die state as your coin in the SSDC registry that has been attributed by VSS as a VAM-2. Certain VAMs command a small premium and some command a very large premium. It all depends on population and desirability. The ratio of value added VAMs to non value added is very small. But typically they don't bring significant higher prices unless they are in special lists like Top 100, Elite Clashed Morgan dollars, Hot 50, etc. the more popular ones and in high grade.
