I started helping clearing all the stuff my dad (& mom) accumulated over the years.. This morning I started taking out all the stuff in 1 specific corner, There was also a nice looking barrel with copper rings.. Only the lit is missing for now, but maybe it's in the opposite corner..
I could not believe it when I looked at the bottom of the wooden barrel, I'm very happy.. Still walking with a smile from ear to ear.. What a lovely addition to my numismatic collection..
I tried to find info on the internet, not successful.. So any info regarding this item is welcome..
How it ended up in a small village in the Netherlands will never be answered I guess..
I keep thinking about this lovely item.. Now I started wondering how the in the US minted coins for the Netherlands & colonies where transported in WWII.
