Jaobler Pillar of the Community United States 6421 Posts	Posted Today 2H 33M ago The nearby Wells Fargo only had one half dollar when I checked today, a slightly battered 1971-D. The teller seemed apologetic, like she had disappointed me which of course was not the case. Then she said "but I have this." Weight checks out at 31.2 grams, it has a good ring tone when tapped at the rim, and is non-magnetic. Design elements look correct. Color is a little weird but maybe that's OK for an ASE that apparently circulated. I'll try giving it a quick dip in E-Z-Est and see how it looks. In any case, I want to reassure that teller that I'm a satisfied customer! Report this Post to the Staff

I'll need to invest in a new bottle. Nevertheless the old stuff still works. After just a few seconds this bank find brightened up considerably. Looks like the real thing now, purchased for $1!
