I've been getting mixed statements about the relative values of these. Some sources say the S/Horizontal S is more valuable, others say they're equal, while others still say the normal S is more valuable. What's really the case?

Depends on grade, generally speaking.

Both have relatively equal value in low grade. In higher grades (AU or better) add about 10% for the RPM.

It's common and easy to find.

BTW, RPM#1, the better RPM, is about a 20-25% boon in low grade, while in higher grades it's worth around 30% more than either of the others. Much more difficult to obtain, especially in higher grades.
