1985 D Unplated Lincoln Memorial Cent / LMC ?

quiquelo Valued Member Colombia 86 Posts	Posted 10/13/2010 12:08 am Ok so I'm not necessarily expecting this to be the real thing but it is a puzzling coin. I went to a flea market on Sunday and a guy had this box full of old things including some cents. At first I thought this was a 43 steel cent but then I noticed the date: 85 D. The weight of the coin is 2.5g and the diameter is 19mm. Any ideas? Report this Post to the Staff

Conder101 Bedrock of the Community United States 17884 Posts	Posted 10/16/2010 08:43 am Just a matter of semantics but I would call the cent that has had the copper stripped off after striking to be "Unplated" and a cent struck on a planchet that never had the copper plating as a "non-plated" cent.
