Found this real nice 1964p Roll searching.

Looks like it could very well be brass plated, and is very similar to a few 1983's that I have that are strikenly golden yellow also.

Anyone ever hear of any 64's that were brass plated?

1964's were not plated. They are copper planchets.

coop's right...but I've seen quite a few 83's also. The composition is so close that I really don't see much value either way.

Not to say someone outside of the mint plated it. Who know Chuck, probably PMD of sorts.

chuckster, look up the composition of cartridge cases and then look up copper pennies.Nearly identical...that's why I think it doesn't have to be a big error to get that color. They used cartridge cases for pennies back in 44-46 and you really can't tell.

Pennies minted from 1962 to 1982 are brass (95% copper, 5% zinc).

Hence, that color is by no means unusual for those dates or 1944-1946 where brass was also used.
