This coin sold on Heritage
http://www.ha.com/common/search_res...3;4294966903 slabbed and certified as PR70 DCAM Raw. Can someone explain what the raw means? I always thought a raw coin was ungraded and unslabbed.

That is confusing because they show a picture of a slabbed example. The listing states raw and uncertified so I would assume the picture is a coin of the same date/type in the grade Heritage had assigned. Still, it seems odd and I would call them before bidding on an auction like that one.

The auctions have ended. Both are from August last year. One sold for $632 & $950.

I think it was just misinformation entered in by Heritage on each auction heading. Both seem to be slabbed coins with different serial numbers very close together.

I would think that heritage wouldn't show a picture of a slab unless you were getting one.

But I do agree with Brad, if I saw that in a current auction, I would defiantely call or email them to get it straightened out before I was to bid

Thanks. I was thinking this was a class of coin I hadn't previously come across or heard of. Heritage has an extremely good reputation but apparently there was just some sort of a mistake on this listing.
