Does anyone think the 2010 Silver Eagle slabbed and graded ms 70 is going to be a good investment.

Sorry, I think all the MS and PF 70 coins are expensive plastic.
They are traded around on websites and such, but a coin dealer in a coin shop will not offer much more than the standard price. Most of the eagles come very nice from the mint to start with.... so there's my 2 cents worth.

Unless you are collecting for a registry set or selling to those that want it for a registry set, the MS 70 designation from a respected third party grader will not add much value over bullion spot price.

A very high percentage of these coins come from the United States mint in high MS 69 and MS 70 grades.

No, not really. Particularly since you didn't say who was grading it.

Sorry. Probably not what you wanted to hear...

If its a PGCS or NGC slab, and you can get it for a good price now, buy it to flip now.

Just looking at completed sales on a couple of sites, those things are going at decent prices. And they are selling, probably to people building out their "one of every date in PGCS MS70" collections. Once that demand is met, you'll be left with a trophy for your own trophy case, but probably not something that will sell quickly.

Looking at older ones in MS70, only the PGCS and NGC slabs are worth having, and even those don't always sell (possibly due to asking prices being over what the market will bear).

Most people want silver for "liquidity." If you want something you can cash out quickly, 10 years from now, 3 unslabbed ASE's will be easier to sell than a slabbed MS70. For that matter, any 3 unslabbed rounds or bars would work, and you avoid the ASE premiums.

Depends on the price and who graded it.

graded bullion is not a good investment in my opinion, they all look alike to the naked eye when they come from the mint but you want to pay 50 to up to 125 over spot for someone to say o this is a ms 70. Forgot the exact number but the 2010 ASE have one of the highest number of ms70 pieces graded so another reason its not a good investment. If your interested in only investing in .999 government issued bullion your best bet would be anything with low mintage that you can get a little over spot, a suggestion would be the 2011 Canadian silver wolves which have a low mintage of only a million vs 30+ million mintage of eagles but again I'm more of a fan of 90% silver US coins with low mintage

Thank you all
I was looking at the PGCS and NGC slabs.
But you all said what I was thinking myself, but I wanted a second opinion just To be sure.
So hears another thought. What is the best investment to stuff the mattress with, 90% silver or 999% bullion.
I have both, but I find myself wondering is one better than the other, or maybe a mix of both.
This is purely for investment, but is one better and easier to liquidate than the other?
Thanks
Alan
