Nice coins, but I particularly like the Tacitus. Very clear and crisp. I too love all my coins. I feel like Golum in Lord of the Rings. They are "my precious".

thank you everyone! the tacitus has more detail than the pic shows. (my photo skills are lacking...) I knew the moment I saw it that I "had" to have it. sometimes you just know, right? there's even some silvering still on it! by far, it moves to one of my favorite coins in my collection.

I suppose it is just jumping on the bandwagon but I also really like the Tacitus. In addition to being a sharp and clear strike with excellent details it is a nice example of the Serdica mint style used, I believe at the end of his reign. Compare it below (your coin a bit lightened up) to my matching Florian (who succeeded him). The styles, especially the portraits, are very similar. In addition to being pretty, it is educational. I hope you will enjoy having it for many years. It will be hard to improve.

I especially like the Tacitus! For that coin, I was trying to decipher the mint mark...am I see K H . H . correctly?

No, but it's easy to see the "H". It is "KAA". The A's sometimes look like "H". I believe your coin is attributed to:
RIC 195 Tacitus AE Antoninianus. Serdica Mint. IMP C M CL TACITVS AVG. Radiate, draped and cuirassed bust right / PROVIDEN DEOR, Providentia standing right with two ensigns, facing Sol with raised hand & globe, sometimes star between, KAA in ex.

Thanks for the help...I guess it's just a matter of getting used to the lettering styles, and I'll learn to read the inscriptions.

Correct. It's a matter of seeing it over and over again. You know, rote memory kinda thing. The more you look at these ancient jewels the more you will easily recognize them. But even then some of the best make mistakes. This we can see in the mis-attributions all over various web sites and even some of the biggest and best dealers. No harm done if one makes a minor mistake in attributing. It's the bigger mistakes and those mistakes made to mislead that we have to be vigilant about.
