KOHM doesn't appear to be abbreviated. I think it's an uncommon name. "Constantinopel", I'll guess is the city we now know as Istanbul. In English, the name changed around the time of the Civil War when the Ottomans were removed from power - 1923, or so. In German, being phonetic, you might wonder why it's not spelled "Konstantinopel", so there might be a clue there: when did the Germans use that spelling ? My guess is that you're looking at trade tokens issued by a German enterprise in Istanbul, but before 1923. The question is, what trade ? Interesting pieces. Report this Post to the Staff
