I apologize for not cropping the photos. Found this one a few months ago and tossed it into my "look at later" pile. There are days when I see a mintmark, and then there are days when I don't. I decided to take a few photos and share them here.

The pics are untouched, and I've yet to show the coin any acetone.

I don't see a mintmark. The coin has some wear, but I think even with that, it should show a partial mintmark.

Oh boy, that's tough to call. I think maybe I see an S and then I wonder if I'm seeing damage. If it is an S it looks tilted so that makes me think there isn't really a mint mark.

I'll check back to see what the experts say.

i am guessing 14 plain with some dings below the year

I think it's only a 14. The mint mark is usually clear on well worn examples that I have seen.

I see the imprint of an S, but it could be a coincidence.

If that was an S it would be about as big as the numbers in the date. I believe a real mint mark during that time would me noticeably smaller than the date numbers.

As soon as I saw the photo I thought "1914 with some dings."
It happens to me too. Next time you'll get it.
