Quote: I like the idea of a sales table with forum members contributing to it. It will show the diversity of collectors we have. Don't wanna pop any balloons here, but doesn't the ANA have a section of tables out in the parking lot or something for sale of under $500 coins?

Here's what we're looking at..... I'm thinking without much research that we do economy corner at $1050. I will admit I have no idea what the differences are between economy, select, premium, and ultra premium are. I spent only about 5 minutes looking and couldn't find explanations.

So if 105 members can com up with $10 each then we have it covered... What is the deadline for the money?
I will start organizing some auctions as soon as I get home.....
Perhaps we could start a "Send CCF to Show" thread on the main coin forum where it will get a little more exposure..
If we are going to get a table then wee need to think about how much inventory will be required... Superdave should be able to cover half the table with his photo spread that still leaves a standard coin case that needs to be filled an kept full for 5 days.... I think this provides CCF members a great opportunity pass on some coins that they would not normally consider offering for sale on the forum.
Perhaps Mom and dad could come up with a consignment plan or am I adding too much work to this...

Are we planning on doing all days of the show, Tuesday-Sunday? I can definitely contribute myself to a few of those days, but probably not all five This will be me and my wifes vacation and she is perfectly happy with me doing three days of helping out...then we want to drive to Gettysburg and a few other sites. I want to do the three busiest days which I am assuming will be Friday-Sunday. This may change as it gets closer and I try to convince her for more days at the show It's funny, she likes coins and collects on a small scale, but she is not an addict like we are I see on the chart Bobby provided, that cases are $20 to rent. If some of us do decide they want to sell some coins, we can rent some of those. I also looked at the chart for five minutes or so and find it quite vague in it's explanation or specifics. The $1050 corner table makes sense to me too, just wish we had a better explanation of length, chairs, cases, etc.

I agree biggfredd. Location IS everything, but in our case, I don't believe this will matter. If we do give a coin or two away via a raffle, we can have the bourse announcer let everyone know this and where to locate our table at the show. We may have flocks of folks wanting to buy tickets, especially if the tickets vs. the prize are worth it, and, it will keep them coming back...I hope I know at the Long Beach Coin Expo here in So Cal, the show announcers tell everyone of the various raffles. Then later on, they announce the winners name...they usually have to be there to claim though.

I hope economy is near the "johns" then. Now that the holidays are winding down, I can finally devote some time to this. In addition to the funds we will have from the raffle, CCF Numismatics (our parent company) will probably also be selling some coins, albums, and books. I already have a few small cases, but if we need more, I'm sure something could be worked out. I have no problem with doing some consignment sales for you guys with a much lower commission than usual (I'm thinking 10-15%) so that our members could walk the bourse. I'm planning to man the table throughout the entire 5 days, anyway. Bobby and I have not had a lot of time to discuss the logistics of this, but we are both definite that we will be there and we will have a corner table throughout the show. Who knows? If this goes well, maybe we'll do this on a regular basis...

Better check PA laws before talking about raffles, especially if tickets are sold.
PA has some strange laws. At one show, they stole all the electronic scales. Triple beams were OK, even hefting something in your hand, but not electronics. Cost dealers tens of thousands of dollars, since an electronic scale in those days could easily cost $1000+.

Here is what I found: Except for volunteer fire, ambulance and rescue organizations, who can have three raffle permits in a year, an eligible organization can only receive two raffle permits in a calendar year. Your organization can avoid needing a permit by staying under the prize value restrictions of $500 per prize and $5,000 per month.
