Ooooo...I'm feeling lucky! Where will the new thread be? How many people are allowed to work the table? Are we thinking anything like pens, or cards or something of that nature?

Couple quick notes:
There's a good train service from Atlantic City to Philadelphia. Fare is about $20 round-trip. That's how I'll be commuting. You arrive at the 30th Street Station. The venue is 1-1/4mi from there at 12th & Arch, what I'd consider a short walk but the subway is also convenient and will drop you a block from the Convention Center. The public transportation system is extensive.
If you're going to be in Philly, you have to plan time to see the city. There is no feeling on Earth like standing in the very room where the Declaration of Independence and Constitution were debated and adopted, and it costs nothing to take that tour. You need to register & acquire free tickets for it and the Liberty Bell at the National Constitution Center (which by the way is across 5th Street from the US Mint), 6 blocks down Arch from the Convention Center. Do that early; the Bell especially forms pretty large lines.
Philly is a rocking, cosmopolitan city, culturally diverse and offering expression for any tastes, mild to wild. The only other city which compares is NYC, and Philly offers the advantage of packing it all into near-walking distances.

I was there twice this year, the lines for both get very long, and the ones that you need tickets for, get them early, because for some reason they "sell out".
The mint is also free. It's a self-guided tour.
Most of the stuff in Philly is free, except for Ben Franklin's grave, which costs $1.50. But still worth it.

I remind all that I am willing to do what I can to help support this CCF get-together ... perhaps we should eventually create a seperate forum/topic Hoping this idea grows legs and look forward to meeting many of you in Philly. David

Question. Does anyone know of any hotels near the convention center? Being from the Los Angeles area, I am very safety conscious, Philly will be no different. I just don't want to be in a shady area. We are flying in and renting a car as we want to see some of the local attractions as well as Atlantic City and Gettysburg. I love to drive and see things I have never seen so we still might drive in from Atlantic City or just stay in Philly.
Oh, any metal detectorists here? I will probably bring mine as I never have the chance to hunt back East! I imagine there are some old public parks or something around the area.

I should have clarified that anyone who works the table is welcome to sell their own items. The consignment offer made in my earlier post is for members who want to sell some items at the show but not man the table. The commission will be 10% for these. I have an account with Amsterdam printing and have been very happy with the pens I ordered from them for CCF Numismatics, so I'll probably get some of those for Coin Community. If not pens, then I'll look into key chains or something along those lines. I really can't wait to meet all of you. It's going to be great to put faces with names.

Dave, I can't comment regarding Philly hotels, except to observe that you'll probably not find a "chain" establishment in an area you wouldn't like. Prices are gonna be....pricey. The White Horse Pike (US Rt 30) onshore here is lined with decent motels. Summer rates will still be in effect, but they'll still likely undercut anything in Philadelphia. As bad as it's been economically around here, you might get an attractive rate at one of the casinos as well. The trouble is, on the island I can't recommend going more than a block inland from the beach. Atlantic City is a rough place.

For hotels, your best bet would be websites like expedia or orbitz.
You could probably get a good deal if you book now.
