one phrase made me double-take: "Bank of Canada senior analyst Julie Girard" - I was wondering if my country had unburdened itself ... (Australians will understand; apologies to everyone else)
interesting article, thankyou. I wondered why more countries had not gone polymer, but I did not know (until now) that paper notes had advanced so much.
In Australia, we have been 100% polymer for fifteen years, and I have no complaints.
Yes I have to admit I did a double take myself. The only criticism I have about polymer notes is that once they are creased you can never remove or minimize it. You also get interesting results when they have been in the washer!
The US would not go for polymer because that would mean moving jobs out of the country. They can't cope when jobs go under capitalism, so they're hardly going to cope with "government" jobs going abroad too.
