Hi guys

I am not too familiar with American coins.
Hope you can answer a silly question for me.
Take a look at the top picture of this 1944d penny, why is the letter "W" higher than all the rest of the letters...?

Is this common...?

I think it's normal for that year. If you check CC's site you can see for yourself.

Looks like most from older dates. Check with http://www.coppercoins.com
That web site specializes in Lincoln Cents and all varieties.
