CoinGirl,

You picked the best coin to fall in love with! I too think they are a spectacular coin. Everyone's photos are great, I've missed all this!

Here is pix of my latest love! Got a whole roll of them in the old shotgun roll for christmas. I think this one is nearly perfect.

Happy collecting.

Being a Dealer of Military Collectibles I find that interest wains with the amount of survivors. WW1 stuff does not bring the premium that it did. WW2 items are still popular because of collectors themselves or they had Fathers who were there. I like latter day coins! In my opinion MS/PR70 ASE are primo, I do not care which of the top 8 grading companies grade them. Classic or modern coins are a perpetual battle on the PCGS forum and probably pretty, shiny, perfect coins will win over some used 1800's ( cent ) penny. You are right, this is a new breed of coin collectors.

Hi Coin Girl!

ASE's are my favorite coin. I have three of the 20th anniversary sets, and you are right, they are beautiful!

Does anyone know what the value would be of a complete BU/Uncirculated set of the ASE's? I'm going today to fill in all of my missing dates. My set will be one from each year without the Anniversary set. Will having the complete set increase it's value/premium?

Did coingirl get a 2006 yet?

I love ASE too. I had a nearly complete set. However, having a limited collection budget, I ended up selling them off to pursue other coins. I still have one that I display prominently in the living room. (It's colorized, don't tell anyone)

This community rocks. I have been on other forums, where someone posted their love for ASE's, and they were told they are bullion coins, and "serious" collectors would have nothing to do with them. This would go on and on until the OP left the forum. Glad you folks are all so friendly and open minded!

Yes, we are open minded here and pretty much accept one another no matter what coin, bullion, token, etc. they choose to collect. That's the fun of numismatics!!! I'm glad that we're enjoying the CCF. I certainly have too!

Since I just started on the ASE's a couple of years ago, I had many spaces to fill. Not anymore! All spaces are filled and the ones that I needed were picked up today (from my wonderful dealer) at Gray Sheet!!!!!!!! Yippee!

We have at least 4 complete sets of American Silver Eagles in the house and, if and when I have extra cash and my dealer has nothing else that grabs my interest, I buy Eagles to throw in my "extra's" box. Nothing wrong with a little extra silver lying around and it truly is America's premier design in silver at this time.

Lightwind_99 there is an email headed your way.

Hi! dsking, I don't have a 2006 Silver Eagle yet. I am saving up to buy one.

My grandpa has a complete set, and so does my Mom, but she can't find it right now.

coingirl: Yes, my post means what it says it does (check your e-mail) too! You've shown such a big interest in them and I have an extra that I've been holding to see if your interest continued. It did...so it's yours. You'll meet me when we get back to Colorado. There will be many visits to the Western Slope as my boat is dry-docked in Montrose!
