One series along with St. Gaudens double eagles I find very hard to grade via photographs only, I'd venture MS64 based on the photos provided.

Thanks everyone. I'm still not the most confident grader, but continue to learn much through comparison to graded coins and review of grading publications.

Has anyone used the systematic approach in the calculation of grades as discussed in James Halperin's "How to grade U.S. coins" and if so is this more representative of how the TPG companies grade? It's an older book, but seems to be more based upon an objective review of specific criteria than a subjective review of just one or two of the criteria.

tpgs don't grade objectively. never have.
