So many great coins, how do you choose a favorite? This one consistantly stays on top of my list.

My God, I sit astonished every time I see that coin, muddler. One of the nicest coins I've ever seen. Beautiful photo...

Since my favorites all start with "179" & even though I am partial to the early dollars & halves my favorite is copper.

One of my favorite coins

Schaumburg-Lippe thaler

Now that is a coin with lots of detail. Sure wish the US could make those.

justcarl: Umm, so who is going to inherit your collection? If you don't have any kids or grandkids who collect coins, you could adopt me and i'll take them. I'll take good care of the collection! ;)

Has come up on several other posts. And yes, no one to leave this all to. Really been thinking about that a lot lately.
Occationally I think this is one of my favorites, but never sure.

I can never choose a single favorite, but muddler's image reminded me of one I am particularly fond of:

Without doubt my 1927 St Gaudens Double eagle - it was my dream coin since I started collecting and I was over the moon when I got it at auction early last year.
