Should I Buy From The US Mint Or A Dealer?

Mach1 Valued Member United States 301 Posts	Posted 01/12/2012 12:08 am Everyone (including the dealers) has to get their ASE proofs from the same place - the US Mint. Unlike bullion ASE's, the only way the mint sells ASE proofs is directly to the public. If you buy from the mint, you know you are paying the lowest price. The dealers have plenty of other coins to make money on, no need to pay more than mint price for a proof ASE. Report this Post to the Staff

paparet Valued Member United States 253 Posts	Posted 01/12/2012 10:39 am I have never found a dealer price lower than the US Mint price for the lastest ASE issue, but you have to pay a $4.95 S&H charge when getting it from the mint. This years proof issue was only available from the Mint from early July until about mid-November when it sold out. Now the dealer price is well above the original mint issue price.
