I sort of like your set as is. Yes you could continue upgrading some and all but as is looks really nice. Basically all are similar but to start upgrading, you would never be able to stop. And then too, what do you think you could do about upgrading the 16? Why not just start set #2? |

Grats on the 16 with a date, also the 1926-S with the decent strike...I remember you telling me you were looking for one and it was almost impossible.

Awesome set. First time I've seen that pic of your dated 16. I know you "found" a couple of dateless ones, I'm assuming you used those to acquire the better one. That 23-S is also VERY nice.
Terrific looking set.......I'm still drooling.

Thank you all for your comments! AFCOP, yes, I did trade a dateless 16 example for a weakly dated G-4 1916, and then I traded that in to a forum member(along with a bunch of other coins and cash), and upgraded to this ANACS VG-8 example with about 75% of a date.
The 1923-s is an ex NGC VF-20 coin. I have mixed feelings about my decision to liberate it from the slab and put it into my album, but I did so now it's raw. :-)
The 1920 is one of my faves in the set for eye appeal. :-) The 1920-s also has some beautiful toning, but I didn't capture it in the photos.
I personally think that the 1919-D is one of the toughest dates. I've owned several, and it has always taken me the longest to find, and it usually sells for the highest in relation to price guide values(I've gotten outbid on so many of those). It really should be valued higher than the 1921 imo. I think the 1921 is just more popular.
