macmercury Pillar of the Community United States 5833 Posts	Posted 01/29/2012 9:38 pm 1928 P 1928 D need upgrade... 1928 S upgrade the same Bonus 1928 S large 'S' variety in SEGS holder AU-50 cleaned. I bought this for two reasons, first to distinguish the difference between large and regular 'S' varieties and second to study how it was cleaned. I think this was lightly polished. The original statistic was that around 40% of 1928 S mint dime are large S, but its been revised that it maybe far less than that now. CaptainFwiffo Pillar of the Community United States 4132 Posts	Posted 01/30/2012 12:37 am I forgot to photograph the reverse of the holder, and in doing so, I found out I could pop out the dime to photograph the reverse of that too. The other kind of holder has a lid and I don't think you could remove the dime without damaging it. There are at least three versions of the capped holder that I'm aware of (blue text, black text and a "mid-south fair's atomic energy exhibit" version.) According to the Wexler Treasure Hunting Mercury dimes book, Doubled Die coins from 1929 and on have been discovered but not for any years below?
