I have very few of these lovely coins worthy of showing. My original Mercury Whitman folder missing but two coins, all pulled from circulation, was stolen from the house when I was a teenager. I have been slowly rebuilding the collection, primarily by searching silver melt tubs. This 16-S came loose in a tray lot from a local estate sale. It's without a doubt the best example I have, and now happily resides in my 7070.

Nice! '16-S is considerably tougher than '16-P to find with a solid strike like that. Even FB ones are usually missing some detail in the hair and periphery lettering.

Thanks Moe! It looks like we're off to a great start! All except this first Merc were collected from circulation in the 1950s A Recent Purchase 1916 from my album 1916 S

She ain't purdy but she's mine, warts and all! All of my Mercs were pulled from circulation when I was a kid (early '60s). Funny how once the clad coins came out, I lost interest in collecting (could have had something to do with me becoming a teen ).

Except for one MS that will be later in the thread, all of my others were also pulled from circulation. I just broke them out of 2 old Whitman folders and am taking my 1st try at pictures instead of scans.
