What an awesome thread! I absolutely love this coin series and am looking forward, with drool pan in hand, at all of the wonderful examples that will be posted. As others have already stated, I will not be able to join in this 'celebration' till some time in February!

Unlike the rest of the "class of 1916", it's reasonably affordable in most grades. It's also one of the best looking early dates; there are plenty of full bands specimens to go around! |

1917 (I think this one is a type of 1916)   1917-S   1917-D seems like a bit of a tougher date in the condition I want, but I do have some extra from Philly.   I hope to eventually have both types from all three of the mints. |

I search up and down for my 17-D's, but wife reminded me that I sold it a while back and haven't replenish my last supply of 17-D.  I need to get a fix, that's one in my most wanted list now.  1917 P going due for an upgrade.   1917 S in Dansco now...   Look at the unusual position of the S mint location. Edited by macmercury
