An extremely small percentage exists having the trumpet tail S, and these are likely the product of a single reverse die. CaptainFwiffo Pillar of the Community United States 4132 Posts	Posted 02/13/2012 12:23 am 1944: Another 1944: An irradiated 1944: While editing the photos, I discovered that the 1944-D in my album has an RPM (RPM-3 I think): 1944-S: 1944-D NGC MS66â˜.FB: This coin is strongly proof-like, and a strange sparkle that seems to come from under the surface. I'd call it DMPL, but you can't do the reflection test because dimes are too concave. Almost all the hairlines and marks, including those three by the B are actually die polishing lines - they're raised. It's got a perfect strike and the most unusual luster I've seen on a coin. Pictures don't do it justice. I could write a book about what it looks like. Report this Post to the Staff
