Just checked all other toonies in my stock, from 1996 - 2011 ( including those special released ), all 16 denticles serration.
in Toronto.

2 (very) big hoarders in the west reported less than 1% of the 14 (2010). No news from my contacts in the east.

Thank you for the stats! I will combine the stats we get here & from Numicanada. Bm0ney, you wrote "Zero out of one ms 2$'s", would you let us know how many twoonies you checked? Dvereckis, do you have the numbers for 2010 only? Up to date:
-normal serration (16 denticles): 107/163
-short serration (14 denticles): 56/163We have to gather informations & stats pretty fast. The new twoonie (and loonie) are coming out in april, meaning the RCM will start recycling (melting) pre-2012 loonies and twoonies, as mentioned in their last annual report. That mean these 2010 varieties will be around for a few years, but they will more likely get scarcer as the recycling goes on. |

No I didn't bother looking at the years since they were all 16 and my wife reclaimed them shortly after.

Well I got a few lumps from her frying pan but I got the twoonies back. The years are 13-1996, 3-1999, 1-2000, 2-2003, 3-2005, 2-2006, 1-2008, 1-2009. No 2010's but I'll keep my eyes open.

56/163 14 serration? Thats about 35% of them!
Individuals outside of this forum seem to be having better luck finding them then us here.

One in my collection is 16
Checked 12 others all 16's
Will check for 2010's tomorrow and post results.
Been watching for counterfeits, not 2010's.
