Yes, but it doesn't say anything about the UNC.

If they're included in the regular issue mint sets, how much would they drive up the price? I would think that they would get their own mint set, or else the regular mint sets would have the normal circulation strikes, the State Quarters, and the Presidential dollars.

From what I have heard from a good source they will indeed be getting a separate proof set just like the Statehood Quarters have all along. They will also be included in the regular proof sets which will now consist of 15 coins in 3 cells. As for the unc sets. Since they are regular, circulating issues, don't they have to be included in the mint sets? I don't see any problem, just 1 more sleeve per P/D mint set. They probably wouldn't even have to change the current packaging to get another sleeve to fit.

They will be in the uncirculated set as well as the Proof sets. Hey Gary, you may have to take care of this old Hoosier as I already know the Presidential dollars are NOT high on our bank's list of things to do or customer service. Keep me posted!

With 8 additional dollar coins per mint set the price will go up. At least $8

By all means, collect them. At 14, you'll have no trouble collecting the entire set, however many that may be. As long as we have a country, we'll continue having presidents, and those presidents will continue to pass away, creating more Presidential dollars - almost a never ending series.
Ralph
`(8) TERMINATION OF PROGRAM- The issuance of coins under this subsection shall terminate when each President has been so honored, subject to paragraph (2)(E), and may not be resumed except by an Act of Congress. `(E) LIMITATION IN SERIES TO DECEASED PRESIDENTS- No coin issued under this subsection may bear the image of a living former or current President, or of any deceased former President during the 2-year period following the date of the death of that President. If Carter lives past July 2014 the program ends in 2016.

I have been excited about the Presidential dollars for many months -- ever since I first heard the rumor that they might be minted. There are however, two things I really don't care for. First, why have the exact same reverse for every single coin? Why not a design showing a significant happening during the President's tenure? Secondly, although I may not be around to see it, why conclude the series? As a President dies, and the two years pass, why not continue the series? I have found more and more collectors becoming enthusiastic about the new coins. I hope we aren't disappointed.

I just ordered my Dansco P/D Presidential dollar book, so bring em on. This will be my first ever collected "set" in all my years of collecting coins. Terry. Your part if Indiana must be as bad as my part of Indiana. Only 1 bank here in town and not looking good. Looks like I'll be visiting the South Bend coin dealer 4 times a month.

I have samples of two different albums lying here right now as I usually take orders for my local dealer. One has a real nice colorful Presidential Seal on the front and even comes with a slip cover. The other is a typical Whitman Album, similar to Dansco but DEFINITELY NOT a Dansco caliber album. I do think it will take serious protecting, just as the Sacagawea dollars do, to keep them in unc. condition regardless of what album you buy!

Terry, Can you tell us the cost of the albums. Also, do you think Dansco will come out with an album?

I've tried HSBC, Citi Bank, Northfolk but they hardly get new coins in. So I'll have to wait till the mint sets come out.
