I received my 3 today. All has cracked and broken plastic flips. The capsules all seem fine, but I did notice that two of the coins fit snug in their capsules and the other rattles around. Anyone else have some that rattle and some that don't?

Normally, proof/frosted finishing on a coin is what draws your attention. On this coin, the frosted finish on the polar bear's head appears much smaller and disproportionate on the coin in hand than what I thought when looking at RCM's rendering. Forum member Ugly's comment about the design being unbalanced immediately came to mind. I think, if the underwater portions of the bear was lightly frosted, or lightly frost the water versus the bear, the coin would look much more... whole, as oppose to having your gaze constantly top heavy and veering off the coin. I still really like the design and think that it is unconventional and very unique. I understand the idea behind the use of the finishes too I think, to give a stark contrast between the above and under water worlds. I just that the BU finish on the underwater portion was poorly used.

^^^ I agree the design is unconventional and very unique. I think it is really well laid-out and a standout design. I think I would prefer if the RCM frosted the coin like in the way you suggest. All bear or water. No mixture. I think Ugly didn't like the text size with the bear around it and that is what he didn't like. I would agree the coin seems slightly unbalanced now by the frost though. At the time there was only the RCM picture of a coin and not a actual coin. The RCM should learn HOW TO DO FROSTING AGAIN AND STOP OVERUSING THE EFFECT IF USED. I don't like how the RCM pictures a coin and then changes it on the actual coin. The minting process itself seems to be getting in the way of producing a nice clean image. It's still a great coin and design.

I received mine today. Opened the bubble envelope pulled out the collectible card, opened it up and three empty plastic flips.... darn near had a heart attack until I found the coins at the bottom of the envelope. All three plastic flips broken.

Heard many reports on the broken flaps. Mine came intact, although they look like they are ripping along the edges.

haven't received mine yet but all these broken flips is kind of disappointing, expected a better product from the Mint.
Oh well, at least its not an issue with the coin itself!

All 3 of my flips were fine. Only probably with one of the coins is there was a mark on it(which I thought was the coin.... like am milk spot). So I decide just to open it up and pay back a buddy with it lol. It turns up the mark was from the plasic case on the inside and not the coin it self. The other 2 coins I got were perfect tho :).

Not a problem with the items that came last week. The coin looks great and has me pretty stoked about the RCMP coin next on the list. I'm basing this on the 2010 uncirculated coin Card set so far being identical to what we have for the 20 for 20.

seems RCM Vancouver shop ran out of polar bear coin already. just curious what would happen if there was no 3 coin per household limit?

What would happen would be that a crook of a dealer would snap them All up and sell it one by one at $40 a pop

I don't believe that dealers are restricted. At least here in the U.S. you can purchase an unlimited quantity for $27.95 (for 10 or more) from Talisman Coins. I am not calling them a crook of a dealer as they deserve to make money too, but just wanted to point out that extras are available albeit at a higher price.
I think at Canada Post you can purchase unlimited quantities at $25 each. (at least you can add them to your cart!)

My question, is how did this guy get 300 of the canoe type, which were also limited to 3 per order? http://www.ebay.com/itm/300-x-20-Pu...em256cc6b76acorrection, as of today, he has 687 listed on ebay in a number of different auctions of 200pcs, 100pcs, 50pcs, 20pcs, etc...
