Hmmm => hey, don't be a stick in the mud => all of the Canadian notes "rock"! => here, I'll show ya ... my teen-years were the 70's, so I remember spending a whole lotta of these dudes on smokes! => the 70's reverses were awesome!

I do like the multicoloured series - I guess that is because it is what I grew up with - plus the designs remind me of what you could create with the old spirograph toy! Since I'm partial to Nova Scotian scenes having grown up there, here is Lunenburg harbour.

I should also scan my Devils Head $5 that I have. Its a real beauty! Changeover prefix (C/C) in original C.Unc/G.Unc condition!

Hey, I realize that I'm totally crossing the line, but I bought my Portuguese father-in-law this note because it was the same year as his birth-year (1942) => I just think it is soooo pretty/cool ... no? => I'm a sucker for purple!

That Portuguese note is pretty nice! Here is a note I received as a prize for a contest on another currency forum...this one is actually a stock photo since I am not at my work where my scanner is! I think it has a value of about one U.S. dollar....although it was an actual circulating note at one point a couple years ago in Zimbabwe.

Little late to comment - was working the mid shift last night but the '54 $5 colour is fantastic, probably one of my fav's.
Never got into the Bird series as much, both because I'm focusing on completing the '37 and because I grew up with them, rather focus on the older stuff before it gets even harder to find.
Seems the '54 series gets a ot of love, should put out a pull for the favourite series, see which one runs away with it...

canuck1us , very nice notes, love the multicolour hundy, still have to get one, interesting miscut ones and a really pretty DF ten. I find some devils face and Beattie Coyne modified have very deep colour ink(which I like) compared to later signatures in the series. Did you scan those bird notes ? My scanner's anti-counterfeiting software won't allow me to do that.

The staff I work with couldn't care less about old(er) banknotes or coins for that matter which works to my advantage.
