Most recent acquisition:
2007 99999 pure Gold Maple Leaf - Test marked
mintage ~500

Purchased for A gentleman in the States, so I don't get much longer to admire the coin...

I have a couple of pattern coins that may be unique.

Coins with extremely low mintages do NOT have to be valuable.

Some of the circulating issues of Papua New Guinea number in the hundreds, and if you can find them (extremely rarely) can be bought through coin dealers for less than $10.

Worth a bit more than that. The grading on the coin is pretty high (issue with grading bullion/NCLT aside
That's why I can't afford to keep it though. A friend in the States asked that I find one for him. I did, love the coin, but have to see it go.

A beauty though, ain't it.

I have 2 of the 2,501 minted 2005 First Day Toonies and 1 of the 1,971 2006 First Day/Last Day Toonie sets. I guess that technically qualifies!

One that comes to mind is the 2005 Liberation of Netherlands 2oo5 25 cent mintage of 3500 most I believe were distributed in the Netherlands primarily, I have 2, I think they are essential to the other military series of 7 or so coins.

I have eight of the Canada 2007 $8 Chinese Square-Cut Hole Proof. I think 20,000 printed or 1/2500. They aren't very valuable but I love the design. Only one of my symbol. The Canada 2007 $20 Swarovski Crystal Snowflake Proof. 1/5000, IIRC. That would probably sell for 4x what I paid for it.

I've seen the mintage on the '07 Snowflakes listed as low as 1403 for the Iridescent and 1434 for the Blue. They planned 5000 but didn't mint that many.

So you actually have 1/1434 on that coin.

CC-Ottawa,

As nice as that sounds, I'm not sure it's accurate. The mintage on the COA says 10000, (5000 for each design), and mine is in the high 4700's.

I've got the 1/25 oz gold Orca coin which is 1/2500. Small coin but I really like it and it's the only piece of gold I own that wasn't handed down to me.
