I'm putting together a roll of unsearched PCGS slabbed coins to sell on ebay. Ideas on how to roll the slabs are appreciated. In all seriousness this is akin to snake oil. I wouldn't fall for it unless I want the coin on the end of his roll (highly unlikely). I wonder how much value is put on the word "unsearched". If this guy decided to come clean but stick to his business plan would he survive after stating that he's built the rolls from bulk coins and putting older coins on the ends for fun?

Although the majority of the blame needs to rest on the seller, a certain quote from PT Barnum regarding suckers comes to mind....

My message was as follows:
Dear englandtc,
Out of curiosity, where do you find such rolls? I like that dime, but I wonder how these rolls can be unsearched. I sure would like to know before I place a bid. Sincerely, potential bidder.

My apologies to the "bad word filter." KITCO would let my word pass. Glad to see the rules are stricter here.

I've sent messages to plenty of sellers like this (sellers of unsearched rolls and 'monster toned' coins)and one thing is certain; They NEVER respond.

How do you see that detail from his ebay account? I had no idea that was publicly available. Would someone instruct me please?

Quote: Ooch... It is also laziness on the bidders part that they are not looking into this sellers buy/sell history.... Not necessarily laziness, more like poor decision making. I often don't have the time to fully look up a sellers buy/sell transactions before placing a bid. If I'm working on making a bid close to the end time of auctions It's all I can do to review the pictures, auction text, and feedback of the seller. That said, there are 2 types of auctions I don't bid on. Any auction where the text says the coins you will receive are similar to or represented by the coins in the photos, or anything that says "unsearched". My Momma didn't raise no fool. If I don't have a clear picture of everything that I'm buying, you won't get my bid! Earl

Way to go, Sherlock ... er, Scubu ! Here's a quote from this slippery seller: Quote:WOW! I have numerous Shotgun Rolls of Wheat Pennies with Mercury dimes, Barber dimes, BU Wheat Cents, Half Cents, Seated Liberty dimes, and Indian Head Pennies on the ends. My question is ... Just how does one slip a Half Cent into a shotgun roll .... Chop it into quarters?

The seller may be dishonest,But there is no way to prove it beyond reasonable doubt....All the evidence is circumstantial.....
Let the buyer beware!
