unless a person does his or her homework BEFORE buying these costly mistakes will happen.

Could someone tell me how to find the information discovered by the OP? I had no idea you see that detail. I'd like to do my homework before making a costly mistake!

Oddly all the feedback is positive and people are liking his rolls. To each their own...

FB is kinda meaningless in this case. If someone is sucker enuf to buy, they'll prolly be sucker enuf to leave + FB.

Even if they realize they messed up, are they going to admit they made a mistake bidding?

One of my favorites is http://www.ebay.com/itm/320840048697

I assure you, a bust dime will jam any counter set for cents.

In 50+ years of buying collections, rolls, accumulations, etc, I have never seen a dime or III cent or FEC on the end of a roll of cents, much less dozens of rolls of cents with "possibly rare" non-cents on both ends.

WOW! I have numerous Shotgun Rolls of Wheat Pennies with Mercury dimes, Barber dimes, BU Wheat Cents, Half Cents, Seated Liberty dimes, and Indian Head Pennies on the ends.

And absolutely ZeRo typical rolls of wheat cents.

The seller may be dishonest,But there is no way to prove it beyond reasonable doubt.

ebay is making money off these s. It's completely obvious what he's doing. They could simply ban sales of mixed denomination rolls.

Again seconding ArrowsAndRays. Somebody please teach me how to fish! Pointing out this seller perhaps protects a few members from this seller's marketing spin while this thread is active. Disclosing the method to obtain such data could provide significantly more value by assisting members in efforts to protect themselves. That, I would see as a huge contribution to this community. Thanks.

To obtain the data - Go to your "My ebay" home page. Click on "Advanced" at the center-top-right of the page.. Choose "By Seller". Type in their name and then make your choices of what you want to see (completed or current listings) and choose the sort method (or just let it default). Works similarly for buyers, too.

If you look at the feedback of some of the sellers, they have will have feedback names that recur every so often, usually with the statement that they received a key date of some sort

Which identifies possible shill accounts.

Pretty straightforward.

sign into ebay.

look at sellers with these phoney baloney rolls

check their other items for sale

look under their seller name and FB to see what they bought

if they're not using a buying account, you'll see things like purchases of low grade/damaged IHC, FEC, III or Seated dimes that "just happen" to match the coins on the ends of their rolls.

weerdsteev and biggfredd...thank you! Not only will this data be valuable for reasons like the one this thread is based on, but also for me to mine bidding patterns of my competition. Much appreciated. It's also interesting/sobering to see my own history!
