I know this is a coin forum but maybe someone on here can help. I have acquired a UK £10 banknote with the copyright text having an extra word in, all of the £10 banknotes that I've seen say "the governor and company of the bank of England" however the one I have says "the governor and the company of the bank of England" extra "the". I know they printed a few but any idea of the rarity.
Hi Yes they are the correct images, if you read the text you will see in the top one it says "the governor and the company" whereas the bottom one states "the governor and company" Thanks for the reply Adam
The first issue of these had the extra "the", it was changed after a time. With banknotes not having a long shelf life it's getting harder to find them in circulation. As to it's rarity it is of course always worth £10.....
