... Armaguard has done it again

Last night I was noodling through an innocent looking Armaguard roll of $1 coins.
Right in the middle of the roll I found a 2010 Burke and Wills dollar. A little bit worn, so it must have been out of its commemorative cover for some time.
According to McDonald, less than 50,000 minted.

Nice way to finish a busy day

Squire

Thanks nancyc, the purple-penny and The Coin Hunter

Even though the coin is probably not worth that much, finding it amongst all the "commoners" felt really special.

I now have three of these "not for circulation" coins.
My other ones are the 1996 Henry Parkes "C" mintmark and the 1991 "mint your own coin" Mob of Roo's.
A relative has a 1995 "Waltzing Matilda" "B" mintmark.

So they are definitely out there. Keep a sharp lookout

Squire

Congratulations Squire!
I have found a couple of NCLT coins, and while what I found is not worth much, its nice to find them.

Just had a look through my first lot of 50c coins for the month, and as well as a 1991 RAM and a couple nice states, I managed to snag another Incused 50c

Fairly problem free example it is, so that's the second I've found via noodling, plus an ebay one

Actually, I was mainly after a 2010 rotated, but hey, an Incused makes up for not finding a rotated

cheers ozcoins

Have just sorted the 2010 rotated 50c problem - thanks to ebay...
Knowing my luck, I'll bag a rotated in the next lot of 50c I go through.

The 2 I've noodled are from about 250 standard Millenniums, or almost 12,000 50 cent coins in all.

Best of luck with your next one

I have not taken many photos of coins, but the ones I have taken tend to look worse in the photos than the coin does "in hand".
I have found every tiny mark stands out mich more in the photos I have taken.
I can not see much wrong with the coin you bought (there dont seem to be any deep knocks or scratches) and suspect it will be a very nice one once you receive it.
Heres hoping I am right and its really nice!

It's pretty good - some wear of course, but no bad edge dings or rolling machine marks- ooh, how I hate these - happens a lot with the 2000 Royal visit coins

Noodling-Find-Of-The-Week?

I did these ones in the scanner, as it is too dark to take pics with the 35mm camera. They come out a bit dark, but still shows warts and all.
Also in the lot of coins I got from the bank today were over 30x 1984 50 cent coins with full lustre: aUNC, plus a lot of 1982 Games and QE2 '77s and '81 Weddings.
Someone has given up on 1984's as an investment, I think...

Well done penny dreadful
Stats are about right for finding your second "incused" (see "July 2012 50c and 20c coin survey" discussion).

Always great to hear that dedicated "noodling" reaps its rewards

Its about time I found a second incuse!
It has to turn up eventually and I am finding some other nice coins in the meantime.
I think that finding another wavy or a $1 mule will be harder.
