I like em and you don't need a Lupe to see them, I have dodgy eyes and I can see the bubble without a Lupe.
Just ebay noodled 2 more in EF
Makes 4 so far
The "Bubble" is clearly visible without a Lupe , look at these examples.

The Mrs noodled a 100 bucks worth of 20 cent coins on the weekend & got 2 bubbles & a few other good errors.
Gave me a chance to have a good look at the bubble, they bear an uncanny resemblance to the little round flowers ? ( don't know if thats what they are supposed to be ) on the end of the stalks in the middle of the 2011 volunteers 20 cent coin IMO.
There must be a fair few getting around the Brisbane area, one brisbane seller has sold 22 since april in lots of 2,3 & 6,selling from $1.50 each up to $5.00 each, except the 1st lot which sold for $5.65 each.

Ha ha that's funny.
It looks a little similar.
The bubble defiantly looks raised and part of the die.
Did a quick search to find out the designer of the volunteers 2011 20c and who could have been making dies at the mint and if it's the same designer that would be cool, Vladimir Gottwald or Wojciech Pietranik was retiring maybe one of them wanted to go out with a little fun, I would leave an Easter egg too.
There's nothing to say that someone couldn't have done a platypus die, and it has been paired it with the 2010 face, after all the mint has to continually make dies as they fail.

I do have a theory as to how this circle or 'bubble' came about.

This is in addition to my previous opinion on P2 of this thread.

One original die had a gas or air bubble that was not visible when the die was made. As this one die got used and suffered some wear and tear, the outer ring of the 'bubble' burst and started to open up and an incuse ring began to form. The more wear it got, the more it opened up, until eventually there was a full incused ring with a raised centre.

And that dear friends is how we got our cute little 'bubble' on the coin (imho) .

Found my second bubble today. Not a big deal for you Queenslanders, who are rolling in them but they are very scarce here in the southern states.

TCH,
Where are you located?
It sounds like we see similar distributions of coins.
