This (as you all know) is my favourite coin I have 8 of them now....they are definitely getting harder to find....and they seem to be in Queensland mostly. Keep looking everyone ...otherwise we might never know how many are out there

I found mine in NSW so maybe these coins are migrating south for the winter.

My 8 were all purchased from a Queensland seller as well. Definately released in QLD.

Hi all New member; though have been lurking for a little while.... Have found a bubble 2010 20 cent from here in Eastern Melbourne last week while doing a circulating coin survey. (BTW, where is the best place in the forum to post the results?) I went through 1150 x 20c coins, of which 55 were 2010's, with just the one being a bubble.
Cheers

Hi penny dreadful, and... Feel free to post up a new topic in the general coins forum if you like with your stats and discoveries - any noodling finds and posts usually receive plenty of interest.

Sounds like a good price, particularly with a 2004 large head included - are you trying to corner the market? lol

Btw penny dreadful! You can post your stats here: https://goccf.com/t/107864I have not taken stats for about a month but with uni holidays coming up I plan on doing something about that. I've decided to concenrate on 5c and 20c because theyre my two favourite denominations. We're up to a bit over $2500 worth of 20c and when it gets to 5000 I will compile the stats.

I doubt this will every become a well known or sought after variety but just in case I wanted a few. Thats not the main reason though. I really like the way it blends into the design so well.

I hope you are referring to the bubble and not the Boof head pointy A

Thanks enworb and FNQ. I've just posted the 5 cent results on a new topic before I saw your post: should it be moved to your thread, enworb? What about the 50 and 20c results?
Green eyes on the 20c 2004 pointy A. Yet to bag one of these in the wild...

Penny Dreadful feel free to post all of your results for all denominations. The survey is a very slow process but it is moving still. If you hang around long enough to get 50 posts and you havent yet found a large head (aka by trout as the 'boof head' ) then I will send the one I got tonight to you.

OK, I have to admit it - I got frustrated with not being able to find any "bubbles" by fair means so I have surrendered and "noodled" a pair off ebay (unsurprisingly a Queensland seller). Pedro

I found my first "2010 Bubble" 20 cent coin whilst noodling last night . Actually, it was a bit of a surprise. It is just possible to see this with the naked eye. Once I put the loupe to it it is more apparent. But in my case the "bubble" seemed very shallow. Certainly not as deep as nancyc's coin in her correspondence on this forum dated 20 February. Almost like the bubble was a stain that had been added to the coin. In fact it looks very similar to MrCruise's coin of 21 April. I gently tried to "wipe it off" to test whether this was a small circular stain, but was unable to. I have posted some pictures of this "bubble". Squire PS. found in Melbourne
