Check this bad boy out! There is a 1971 p DDO a 1971 s DDO ( with rpm) and now, I believe I have found the 1971 d DDO. Opinions? Whats it worth? Its in a cheapy plastic holder, pain in the butt to take pics with, especially with my htc evo camera phone.

I admit I have posted some extra special lincoln cents while I was still learning. I have come a long way in the past two years though, and am very excited about this one. I don't think anyone would say its not a DDO.. where do I send this thing in to? And what do you think the value may be ? Thanks guys!

It's hard to tell from these pictures. I think I see what you're looking at, but I can't exclude Machine Doubling.

better pictures are a must. The only way to see any doubling and determine its origin.

I reallllllly dont want to take this thing out of plastic. I believe That would be a huge mistake, seeing that I do not believe any others have been found. I own a couple 71 p DDO's , '71 s DDO 1 & 2. This would complete my collection. If I can make any more decent pics it will have to be through the plastic/cardboard holder. the color has started changing because of the humid environment it has been kept in. I have had this thing for about a year and a half but misplaced it, until I rediscovered it , and found it safe and sound in a drawer . I want to send this out tomarrow at the latest. I can confirm notching, and obvious doubling... I guess you can say * rounded* doubling, on all obverse elements very similar to the other three I own. I do not own a digital camera , or proper equipment just this 5 mega pixel camera phone used with a loop.

But, that being said, let me see what I can do. Aside from the obvious , Anything in general you would like to see closer or more clear, so that you guys can make a more concise judgement call? I'm afraid it will remain in the holder while I take the Pictures .

Quote: I really don't want to take this thing out of plastic. I believe That would be a huge mistake The "huge mistake" is trying to take a decent photo through a holder that is causing reflections and blur. Unless a coin is in a TPG slab or OGP, then it should always be removed from the holder before imaging. Based on the limited(and upside down ) photos, I do not see anything that looks like hub doubling.

I see some type of doubling on the "N" of "IN" and the "T" in "Trust" But with the pictures I can't tell if it is MD or DD. I agree with the above comments. Get some cotton gloves if your worried about oils from your hand getting on it and take some better pictures. Then you will get a good idea of what you have.

Please buy a camera instead of taking pics with a phone. You can take the coin out of the plastic and take a pic of it too. A picture wont scratch the coin and not sure if it is a DDO for its too blurry.

I realize that you cant see much here, but I thought a further shot may help a little bit. No, I will not take it out of the holder, but, tomarrow I will see if I can barrow a camera Theres less glare taking the pics upside down Heres a few more , sorry the pics are so terrible.

Pictures are still blurry, but I think that might be something!
Looks like it could be the coin shown on page 58 of Ken Potter's "Strike it Rich with Pocket Change" book. Clearer photos would confirm it.

If you have a friend that has a pretty basic digital camera, using the Macro setting and angling a light source with a piece of white paper in front of it to cut glare, take a few photos of the coin as close as you can get to it without the photo being blurry. The camera should have a built-in cropping feature so you can isolate and zoom in on the lettering that you feel is doubled. See what you come up with!
