Quote: let's put it this way, the wood box is sold out But how many wooden boxes were there? Same thing happened with the Niobium coins; the set was sold out but the individual coins were not. I wish the mint would be a little more transparent and list how many coins are in sets and how many are individual.

They can probably only sell a set number of subscriptions so that there will be some single versions of future coins. If they sold the same number of subscriptions as coins available, the next coins in the series in the future would be sold out before they were released. Then the mint would have to up the mintage of future coins (shhh, don't mention that to the mint, lightbulbs might go off in their heads.

Going tomorrow to pick up the case and the first coin. I was actually kinda sad when I found out they were sold out. I called my dealer to see if he has any... and he has lots!

Just received my Group of Seven subscription box and first coin today. The box is huge! Bigger than it looks on the website. It's the width of my keyboard and about 2 inches high. The first coin is really nice though. My suspicion is that it will be the nicest coin in the set based on the pictures in the catalogue though.

Thanks! Expanding on the coin itself, I'm very impressed by how the mint recreated the brush strokes. They really do make it look like a painting. It is quite a unique coin. I've only been collecting for a couple of years but I can't off the top of my head recall another RCM coin with this effect.

^ completely agree with sixofclubs This is where I feel the RCM excels and rightly so. As excited as I am about the glowing dino bones and my wife smitten by crystals and glass on coins, it's coins like this one we are talking about that is the really stunner.
