The set is sold out at Gatewest.
I bought 2 of the sets from them last week; one to keep and one to sell. Do you think the sets will appreciate in value? How many of those boxes did they make?

I have no idea how this coin is going to do. I am not sure how many art collectors there are that would be interested in this coin. It could have a huge potential if it finds buyers. I don't see many being sold in the secondary market. It could be the gem of this year, along with Glowee.

I bought three of these. One for me, one for my daughter and one to flip. I can tell you right now that the Group of Seven is hot topic in Canada right now. Prints of their art are selling like crazy and there was even a TV show based one them recently. That combined with the incredible engraving will make these a hit. The only problem is the box kind of sucks. The insert just looks cheep and the COA does not fit properly in the inserts. I'm not sure if the set will ever double in value, but I'm sure it will resell for a premium in the future. Still it will be almost a $700 to complete the set. If you want to make money flip the cheep colored 25 cent coins. Far more profit in those. This this has great collectable value just for the engraving quality and represent Canada's heritage, definitely going to be a hit.

The box, Are you talking about the box that holds all the coins? and do you guys think the mint will come out with another subscription set like this? maybe not art but something different.

The image bellow shows what I mean. The set box uses a cheep plastic insert. It has a 2mm gap all around. Poorly designed and not as good as other mint products. The box will not add much value to the set. Other than that, the coin looks great, and that's whats really important. As for other sets. As long as they sell out coins like crazy there will be sets to collect. They even turned the birthstone coins into a set. Sold out fast. I can't imagine what other topics they will use. The did birds, dinosaurs, planes, lunar set, flowers and provincial seals in gold. They are doing animals in bullion. They did a transportation series. I would like to see another series like this but colored so it look like a real painting. This time include a Tom Thomson painting. If they could pull that off, that would be a great set, and put it in a good box.

The boxes will make the coins look great, having them all together instead of in the individual boxes. And thanks for the pics
