hey guys... first every post here.

when I saw this online back in April, I had absolutely no idea who the group of 7 are. I was fortunately enough to be at my girlfriend's home (whom is an artist). Base on her recommendation, I ordered 3 subscription, thinking it would be something to eventually pass to kids.

I'm glad to do so, looks like there is even an investment potential on those.

sad thing is... have not yet to receive any yet. lol

Hi all,
Do you think $90-100 is too much for a 1oz fine silver coin?

Depends on what you do to something that determines the final value. Is a one oz ingot of silver bullion worth $100, of course not. Is a silver coin minted with a popular topic and issued with some amount exclusivity worth $100, maybe. If you take that same one oz of silver and make it into a piece of jewelry you would have no problem paying a premium. If that piece of silver is very difficult to find and you really have to own it you may be willing to pay up to $200 - $300 for it.

So to answer your question, no I don't think this to much. In fact I think this piece of silver is worth about $110 to $130 and could be worth more later. If every coin was only every going to be worth is PM value what would be the point of spending hours and hours engraving images to make new coins.

I have two Stormy Weathers and it is my favourite coin this year, though I think the Two Loons might be the new winner.

I wish I got the subscription and box because I intend to collect all of the group of seven coins and it would look better than seven separate boxes.

I wonder if they will release coins for the additional group of seven artists beyond the original seven (yes, there were more than seven in the group of seven). I guess they'd have to make an additional display box to stick onto the side.

The next group of seven coin doesn't look so good in my opinion.

you never know, it might engrave very nicely. I don't really like the stormy weather piece that much and I LOVE the coin. The box is nice too but I may not use it to display, we'll see. I might just buy those acrylic coin easels from ebay.

Actually I've seen the coin itself. Doesn't look so hot. Not a lot of detail.

Which begs the question, how did you manage to see it already?

This would be the fishing village? The artwork is actually very busy but not particularly detailed, I was thinking too busy for a coin.

Of the remaining paintings, the Fishing Village was the one I thought would be the nicest... though I could see that it would be difficult to translate onto a coin.

Looking at the Stormy Weather painting, and even the initial pictures of the coin, I wouldn't have thought the coin would be very impressive. Fortunately I was wrong!

We'll see how these coins perform on the secondary market. Not that it matters that much for me, but look at the $15 dragon coin where the RCM decided to BOOST mintage to 48K. outch! I thought the Mintage was LIMITED... Wrong!

Have a chance to have a look at the second coin in this series today.
IMO, the "Stormy Weather" looks nicer. The second coin looks so mess, just as an image above.
It will be available for sale at the middle of July.

Just back from local PO and had a chance to look the photo on their book. It is good enough for me. like fkl118 said, there are too much info on the paint and it is difficult to translate everything onto a coin.

by the way, another coming crystal on flower 20 dollar coin looks nicer.
