9 dinos pending, how many are pending? 10,009? Im shocked at prices going for dino glow in the dark quarter with 25000 made! Maybe when RCM sends more dino in dark coins in September; it will flood market and price will fall hard down to $50 for these coins to go for over $100, they should have less than 10000 mintage.

if you plan to sell to make profit, better do it now before RCM sends many more dino in dark coins in September... price will be heading down quick, if you wait to buy one they will be about $50 or less at end of year after Holiday shopping.

New info on mint site: Notice of product delay Technical challenges related to new technology applied to our 25-Cent Colored Glow-in-the-dark Dinosaur Coin have delayed shipment of orders. The Royal Canadian Mint holds itself to exceedingly high standards of quality, innovation and craftsmanship and our customers expect no less. When technical challenges put these high standards in question, the Mint believes it is obligated to correct them rather than release an inferior product. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience related to this situation and genuinely appreciate of your continued patience and understanding. Please be assured your order is very important to us and is expected to be shipped in September.

Maybe if they spent less time policing forums and more time making coins, they wouldn't have these issues. Who cares if people talk about their coins a few weeks before they are released, it isn't harming anyone. It probably benefits the Mint.

The delays due to "technical challenges" do make one wonder if those that have already received their dino coin(s) have a coin that is inferior to what the RCM will deliver in September after it has worked out all of its problems. Will the already released coins lose their "glow" more quickly? Will their paint separate from the metal base unexpectedly? It would be helpful to understand what challenges the RCM is dealing with to better understand potential issues with already released coins. Thoughts?

After reading the mint anouncement about this coin, I decide to hold back my 3 dino coins. Haha I will bet on this coin, sale them at x-mas shopping time. Who can guarantee that Mint will ship out on time in September. And No more delay? I really doubt about it. But if I am wrong, the market is cool down. I have nothing to lose. Just give those coin for kids as christmas present.

I am wondering what technical problem they could have. I have a dino currently and also have one on order still. It will be interesting to see if there is a difference. IF there is a defect in the coins already released, will that make for a great error coin? Will the price go up? Will the price go down? There are so many factors that no one knows at this point. I do know that I have had a lot of fun showing this coin off to my friends and how definitely gotten my money worth just out of the novelty effect of the coin

Quote: IF there is a defect in the coins already released, will that make for a great error coin? Will the price go up? Will the price go down? My guess is the "glow" doesn't work as well after a period of time, maybe even quits glowing on those already released. To me that is a defect (not an error) that detracts from the value. I would only want one of the ones that are to be released, not one that has been released.

I wonder if the error & delay is because dino coin is missing the "JC" signature, compared to the original image on Mint website. https://goccf.com/t/123229check this post, many report dino coin is missing the "JC". that would make the first batch worth more $$$, if this is the real delay!

Penny, I still think it's the glow feature. The first sentence that alludes to the delay says :"Technical challenges related to new technology ..."

Sure glad you can see into the future and see the price drop but I think you are totally wrong on that it will not go down unless they cancel the rest of the series. I have gotten a few with the COA number in the 15000's so there are not that many left to be produced.
