Hey Guys,

I'm not all that familiar with the bust half series but am looking for an XF or better example for my type set. I just got back from a local dealer and he had these two....forgive the photography ...just had a camera phone with me. Both graded at XF 45 What would be a reasonable price for each of these? Thanks for the help.

I would go $175-$200 on the 1883. $200-$225 on the 1831. If I were breaking it out for a 7070 I would pick the NGC 1883. The premium on the 1831 is due to the PCGS slab. IMO

I would probably be around $185 on either. Depending on how much I liked it in hand or what I was buying to for, that may go up a tad.

He offered both at $175. I doubt I'd crack either out .....I may try to get both for $300.

I think that is a fair price, and if you can get both for $300 that is a good deal. Show him the cash - those crisp green FRNs often make a deal easier to accept.

Go for it.

Once you start a Bust $1/2 set you will never be sorry.

Don't think he would go for the $300 but if he does, grab them.
