Security video is often grainy and hard to make out and easy to fight in court if it goes to that extend.
I've never seen a digital playback. Is the resolution that much better or just a better, more archival/economical way to store?

Yes, you just have to cut the drywall down a bit.

Yes but remember to tie a red flag on to it.

Quote: I will say though, I have absolutely zero idea what the history requirements are for security footage for a bank. A week, a month? no clue... Around here they do a seven day rotation. (I've seen the video recording set up at every bank in town.) Quote: Security video is often grainy and hard to make out and easy to fight in court if it goes to that extend. One reason for this is they often try to go cheap and use one fixed focus camera to try and cover the entire bank. You're either out of focus, or in focus but too far away to see details.

I could see how digital could be cost effective if you only need 7 days worth of footage.

Quote: Will drywall fit in a prius? if so I would buy one also! :D When you put the rear seats down there is a surprising amount of room, though I think an 8' board would be pushing it. Though thats in mine. they make a Wagon version of the prius.. it actually might fit in it. http://www.toyota.com/priusv/" there's 34.3 cubic feet of space behind the rear seats."

Quote: I've never seen a digital playback. Is the resolution that much better or just a better, more archival/economical way to store? In my experience, both. Keeping in mind that equipment and configuration will affect quality. Even if quality and price were the same (for analog and digital), I feel the biggest advantage for digital is ease of use. I can access video anytime I want, no matter where I am. Quote: I could see how digital could be cost effective if you only need 7 days worth of footage. If you are really interested in how digital is more cost effective for days, months, and years, we can move this part to General Discussion. That being said, we need to shift this back on topic. Yes, I am just as guilty as anyone for the drift. I could move this whole thing to General Discussion to widen the conversation a bit, but I will leave that decision to SDcoinguy.

I guess the upshot of us drifting off-topic was the more frequent bump.

The OP hasn't posted since Monday night. Maybe he walked away from the discussion.

Not much he can do other than wait for the bank.
