Every Morgan or Peace dollar purchased is a VAM. VAM 11 is a catalogue number to indicate the exact obverse and reverse dies used to mint this coin. As the dies changed via re-engraving/redesign, the numbering changes.

My last purchase was an 1882 CC VAM 2E.

I think that's on the Hit List 40.

And the '78 is a Top 100. So cool.
