Quite a number of posters here have ordered more than one of the Loons including myself. I actually intend to keep both of mine. Anybody else doing the same or do I have a different form of OCD?

I'm not considering the 38mm 'Two Loons' dollar as part of the standard commemorative silver dollar series that began in 1935, just like I don't consider the various 26.5mm silver commemorative loon dollars that have been issued part of the set. For me, if it's not a 36mm silver dollar it's not part of the long-running standard commemorative dollar series. This is one of the things that the RCM does that frustrates and disappoints me, they are simply not consistent within a given denomination or series. They will produce the same denomination in various sizes and metallic compositions, sometimes to rather absurd ends - gold 50-cent pieces?! It's this approach that really makes me wonder about NCLTs in general. More and more it seems like the Mint is really just striking medals and stamping them with a convenient denomination so that they will sell better. It's likely that I will continue to collect the 36mm silver dollars as long as they are issued, but it also appears likely that going forward they will be just one of a growing number of types of silver dollars released each year by the RCM. Just my thoughts...

SilverBug, yes, I wonder sometimes. Seems like it only acts up when I look at coins.

FYI the $5 Sterling Silver and Niobium Coin - Full Pink Moon is SOLD OUT. That's to bad. I'm glad the coin is so popular and that its a low mintage but it seams as though if you don't become a master club member you don't get to buy the good coins.

Even for MC members the pink moon wasn't a sure thing. I'm guessing most of the mintage was allocated to subscriptions, so not that many for sale.

I guess there will be a lot of the pink in the Mint store here Vancouver after it is released officially, because I saw the wolf many times there.

Agree. I guess the Full Pink Moon are mostly in the hands of coin dealers? I did not see much premium generated by its predecessors and they are still available in some post office branches and mint store. So I guess I will see the full pink moon soon at Mint store here.

Quote: Design covers the whole coin reverse in vibrant colours painted over an engraved surface! You know I did not like the "Two Loons" design at first but it started to grow on me. At first I thought it was just a painted coin but its paint over engraving. This is going to be an amazing coin when you get to see the real thing. Ordered 3 more, 8 total. I can't believe they neglected to put a limit on this coin.

Quote:from RCM's photo, I don't see anywhere on the loon coin that shows 1 dollar It says "Canada Dollar" on the top of the obverse. One thing I noticed on the Lucky Loonie is that they show the outer sleeve of the 2 loon as part of the packaging.
