From the first picture it looks like PMD (Post Mint Damage). Like John1 said, it looks like the I got scraped and pushed. Look with a loupe or decent magnifier and see if there aren't scrape marks where the I is supposed to be.
If it is truly PMD then it is worth about $0.25. If it came from the mint that way then it might be worth getting it graded and certified as an error.
It is PMD. We have seen plenty of these in the past on the forum. It's not an error, just damage. Also, this is a double post. Please only post your question once.
Intense.... I looked and it does appear to have been scraped. I have looked at this numerous times ,yet I never noticed that. I'm really glad that I joined this forum. You guys just saved me money, I was ready to send it in for grading. Thanks!
I've always found it odd that so many coins get hit or smashed in such a way that part of the date or lettering gets moved over. I have several Pennies with dates like that.
