While I'd really love to work on this type set, I figured it'd get rather expensive especially with some of the older coins, and especially the gold coins, and I'm on a very limited budget. I'll stick to roll hunting and collecting mostly 20th century coins.

I started the quest by laying what I have in a drawer waiting for the updated books to come out.

The 7070 is the most fun set you could want to put together. All that history and variety in one collection can't be beat.

So I voted no when I opened the thread but by the time I got through it I have the itch to get started. It is the kind of collection that non-collectors will get a kick out of. Showing page after page of Morgans is cool to me but most people's eyes glaze over pretty quickly. As I looked through some pictures I noticed something though. Why no flowing hair or draped bust dollars? I know they are pricy but it isn't a complete set without them. And besides, I need somewhere to show off my draped bust dollar. And I have some rough examples of some things like 3 cent, 2 cent, large cents, Seated dimes and quarters, Shield nickels, etc. for cheap trade if anyone is interested.

It's supposed to be 1800 to date. That's why it doesn't have Flowing Hair anything, Liberty Cap cents, etc. That said, if it's 1800 to date, it should have Draped Bust everything (as well as Capped Bust where applicable). It doesn't though (well, some Capped Bust issues are included, but not all IIRC). I guess there's still an obviously pricey rarity that would demand their own type: the Gobrecht dollar. I'm not sure how they are going to get out of that one... (Unrelatedly: why no Silly/Booby/Petite heads for large cents? They're clearly their own types.)

Have started the quest, but not putting them in the book at this time. Putting all my coins in air-tites and updating my coin inventory software. Once I get much closer I will probably pop them out and put them into a book... if I can find one

I've also started the quest, but I'm waiting to find out about the updated 7070. Has anyone heard any sort of update on this?

Dansco's lack of information just lost them business, I ordered the Type set from Intercept. Tired of waiting.

So what exactly is supposed to be the update to the Dansco album?

I got tired of waiting for the new 7070 also. I couldn't find one online either but I get so used to the internet that I remembered an actual brick & mortar coin shop in the next town over from where I live. I stopped by yesterday on the way home from work and bought the last 7070 they had for $25 (still sealed). I took it home and filled 43 holes with stuff ranging from G to Proof. I was surprised at how many type coins I had. I've collected for years but had no real strategy. Seeing some of the pics of completed 7070 albums on this forum over the last couple of months provided one! And an expensive one at that - my wife is thrilled

Should add one more choice: 7070 complete, but still on the quest.
Every slot can be filled which would make it complete, but I am always looking for upgrades and additions (I added a Half page to put in more classic and modern commems).
