We should nickname the large dates " JoeTurbo's "......like " I found a couple 70-S pennies today but they were both JoeTurbo ".....

Lol you don't even know raymo. I have rolls here all BU honestly I even scanned them all. Used the scope... I truly see differences in the 7's and every time the census is "NO".

joeturbo - also keep in mind that alot of them were included in mint sets (uncirculated ones that included the ONLY half dollars released that year)

Go to a coin show, or dealer's shop, or flea market or whatever, and look at as many as you can in those uncirculated mint sets - you are bound to find one, and I bet the person selling it doesn't even know the difference. The easiest way to tell them apart with your naked eye is the strength (or lack there of) of LIBERTY. If its faint and indistinct (thats what we want in a small date) than dig deeper to look at the tip of the 9 and the crease in the 7, and everything else people "use" to determine a small.

Gotta love your perseverance brother. Scan away! I'm sure we'll find a small date amongst the JoeTurbo's
